The Lord of the Rings Online Outfitting Description
The LOTRO Players can outfit their characters with a wide variety of clothing and accessories that can be worn and displayed in addition to equipment armour. Outfits may be acquired at Outfitter NPCs in the Bree, Trestlebridge, Thorin's Hall, Rivendell, Othrikar, Michel Delving, Stock.
Description
The Book 12: The Ashen Wastes free content update (Feb. 13, 2008) introduced the Outfitting system which allows players to display two cosmetic outfits in addition to primary equipment. The two additional outfits are for appearance only, and no stats or effects from items apply when equipped in a cosmetic outfit slot. Book 12 also introduced cosmetic items into the game, such as backpacks, quivers, dresses, shirt and pants outfits, and more. Cosmetic items are for appearance only and do not have armour or stat bonuses.
Outfit 1 and Outfit 2 become available when a character reaches level 20. Characters below level 20 can still display cosmetic items by equipping the item in a regular Equipment slot.
Cosmetic items as well as regular equipment items can be equipped in either Equipment, Outfit 1, or Outfit 2 slots (although no item stats or bonuses will be applied by items equipped in outfit slots). A player must still meet the requirements of items such as level, class, armour proficiency (e.g. light armour, medium armour) in order to equip the item in a cosmetic outfit slot.
